Engagement Conferences

There are many regional and national LGBTQA+ conferences geared toward college students. Every year, we send a contingency to MBLGTACC, and some clubs and organizations sponsor their members in attending other conferences. Below is more information on conferences with UNL delegations.

The Midwest Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Asexual College Conference is the largest queer leadership conference in the country. Students from colleges and universities from across the midwest come together for an amazing weekend of workshops, presentations, keynote speakers, networking, and more. Every year, we help sponsor a contingency to the conference.

We provide:

  • Transportation to the conference
  • Lodging at the conference
  • Reimbursement for food costs

Students who travel with us must:

  • Pay registration fee (scholarships available, contact for more information)
  • Attend informational meetings
  • Volunteer at multiple fundraising events
  • Provide writeups about sessions attended

For more information, check out MBLGTACC’s website.

oSTEM National Conference

oSTEM (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is a national society dedicated to educating and fostering leadership for LGBTQA+ communities in the STEM fields. Every year, they host a conference for chapter members from across the country and world to come together to collaborate, learn, and network.

For the past two years, oSTEM @ Nebraska has sent a delegation to the oSTEM National Conference. Funding and spaces are limited, so you must be an active member of oSTEM @ Nebraska. For more information, contact oSTEM @ Nebraska.

Out for Undergrad

Out for Undergrad hosts four conferences every year: Marketing, Business, Engineering, and Tech. Each conference brings together a group of high-achieving group of LGBTQA+ students from across the country for an all-expense-paid weekend of professional development, workshops, keynote speakers, and networking with industry leaders.

Check the O4U website for when applications are open. There is a small fee if you are accepted, but all travel and lodging expenses are covered. UNL doesn’t sponsor a delegation to this conference, but UNL students have attended almost every conference.
