The purpose of the Roland Leavitt and Shawn Leavitt Family Scholarship is to provide a scholarship to UNL undergraduate students who are non-traditional students (delayed enrollment more than one year after graduating from high school and/or has a primary focus other than school (work, parenting, etc.) OR is a student who is a member of a recognized student organization whose purpose is to support LGBTQA+ students; has demonstrated involvement at the LGBTQA+ Center; or is pursuing a minor in LGBTQ/Sexuality Studies at UNL. Preference will be given to students with a major in the College of Business.
Applicants must submit a completed application with the required supporting materials.
The scholarship will be $1,200.00 with a tuition credit of $600.00 being applied each semester (fall and spring) toward the recipient’s centralized billing account. Recipients’ names will not be kept confidential as the recipient’s name is included in announcements about the scholarship.
Application and supporting material for the scholarship are to be submitted online. The scholarship will be awarded for the upcoming academic year. Information, except for the recipient’s name, will be kept strictly confidential.
The recipient will be notified by the beginning of April and recognized and presented a certificate at Lavender Graduation. All applicants will be notified of results. Lavender Graduation is traditionally held during 14th week on Thursday between 5 to 7 p.m.
